In Canada, because of the slumping economy, 2008/09 was a difficult year for many.
HopeStories.ca introduces you to those who trusted The Salvation Army in their time of need.
Watch and share the stories, comment or describe a personal experience that gave you hope below.

    Dear friends.

The spirit of generosity is evident even during challenging times. More than ever, as the economy softens, our services are important. As an international Christian organization, The Salvation Army is humbled and encouraged by those who have shown confidence in our vision of outreach to our most vulnerable citizens.

In 2008, thousands of Canadians were affected by spillover effects from a declining global economy. Its impact on jobs and financial portfolios caused The Salvation Army to see a significant increase in demand for its services.

Poverty is at the root of many of the social service issues The Salvation Army sees every day. At HopeStories.ca you'll meet those who trusted The Salvation Army in their time of need.

    May God bless you.
Commissioner William W. Francis, Territorial Commander
